Special Reporter: The XXIII Convocation of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV) was held on 13th November 2025 at the Administrative Building, Mohanpur. The Hon’ble Chancellor and His Excellency Governor of West Bengal, Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose, presided over the ceremony. Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director General, International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, attended as the Chief Guest. Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Minister-in-Charge (Agriculture), Government of West Bengal, and Swami Shivapradanandaji Maharaj, Purulia Ramakrishna Math & Mission, were Guests of Honour.
The University conferred the Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) degree upon Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Dr. Saurindra Prasad Ghosh, Dr. Puranjan Das, and Smt. Mallika Srinivasan. It also presented the Bidhan Krishi Ratna Award to Dr. Tapas Kumar Das; the Bidhan Krishi Udyogpati Award to Sri Sudip Bhui; and the Bidhan Krishak Shiromani Award to Shri Kutubuddin Biswas.
The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ashok K. Patra, outlined the University’s major achievements during 2023–25. A total of 1,368 students received degrees, including 660 graduates, 464 postgraduates, and 244 doctoral scholars. The University also awarded 70 Gold and Endowment Medals and 6 book prizes for academic excellence.
