Special Reporter: The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and the Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, Singapore (TLL) have taken an important step toward strengthening science-based solutions for sustainable and regenerative agriculture.

During the Singapore Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia 2025, IRRI Director General Yvonne Pinto and TLL CEO Peter Chia formalized a new partnership through the signing of a Letter of Intent for Collaboration (LoIC), witnessed by Paul Teng (IRRI Fund Singapore Executive Director) and Stanley Lee (TLL Managing Director).

Through this collaboration, IRRI and TLL will advance joint research and innovation in regenerative agriculture, soil health, and crop improvement; launch new initiatives on soil and microbiome science; engage regional platforms aligned with ASEAN priorities; and build capacity through shared expertise, facilities, and data.

This partnership brings together the strengths of IRRI’s new 2025-2030 Strategy and TLL’s cutting-edge research expertise to drive innovation at the nexus of climate, food, and nature, advancing resilient and sustainable food systems for Asia and beyond.
